well first thing is that it’s mainstream as fuck. Literally take this for example, EDC used to be a 1 day only event and tickets were like $20-$40. Now its what… $300 for a 3 day event just general admission? think about that. Was from LA at the Coliseum til that girl died of O.D. and now it’s in Vegas. I mean just cause it’s mainstream doesn’t mean much. Some even say that djs “sold out,” but they’re practically getting paid to do what they love and that’s really all that matters. Back then raves were all about coming together to enjoy the music. Now all I hear is “i’m ready to get fucked up” and that typical shit. POPPED A MOLLY I’M SWEATIN’ WOOOOOOOOO! I mean the scene just became a part drug and sex related event. Where I’m trying to get at is that whatever is popular at the moment (mainstream) those people will follow. Half the people I ask what EDM stands for they don’t even know. That right there speaks for itself. Plus all those people who would talk shit about how “gay electronic music was” are the ones who are deeply into it. I still enjoy the music that they put out, I honestly enjoy it just as much as I did 10 years ago. I just don’t support the fans who give ravers a bad rep.
